CBG Consultants have implemented the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital engineering using the latest versions of AutoDesk Revit and Navisworks software to assist with the design, production, co-ordination and subsequent issue of projects.

These projects range from single plant room developments to entire secondary schools and hospital wings. CBG have successfully delivered a number of fully co-ordinated projects to BIM Level 2 and information has been provided in the COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) data format. We strongly feel BIM adds value by creating, managing and sharing the properties of a building throughout its life cycle, and enables all members of the design team to work efficiently and effectively during all stages of the project.

As part of this, CBG adhere to the relevant codes of practise such as BS EN ISO 19650:2018, PAS1192-3:2014, PAS1192-4:2014, PAS1192-5:2015, BS 1192 2007, the CIC BIM Protocol and the BIM Forum LOD Specification.

CBG has provided training and guidance to its engineers to use Revit as part of the design process, which allows both the mechanical and electrical designs to be fully co-ordinated as the project progresses. This means any potential issues or clashes can be identified and eliminated before any delays are caused. Incorporating the engineers directly into the BIM process allows us to directly implement their experience and intuition in a way that a dedicated Revit team may not achieve.

“I wanted to reach out and say a big thank you for all the hard work your team have put into the project.  We’ve been reviewing your BIM model and are impressed by the quality of it.” – Local Architect
