The Independent boarding/day school is located on a 45 acre beautiful landscaped site, near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.
The school’s determination to deliver quality education has led them to plan and build new facilities, expanding the quality educational environment to be both environmentally friendly, and cost effective.
CBG were engaged as the M&E consultants and BREEAM assessors, for the construction of a new lecture theatre, art, music and learning resource centre (LRC) building. The project included some specific technical challenges, relating to the acoustic separation of the music practice rooms from the adjacent LRC. The floor to ceiling height was also very restrictive due to planning constraints, requiring a bespoke ventilation design.
The 130 person lecture theatre includes a demand-based cooling and ventilation system, to minimise energy usage while optimising fresh air supply. Scene setting controlled lighting and an audio visual system are also provided.
