The scope of works covered the supply and installation of new M&E services to the existing paediatric A&E at Hillingdon Hospital.
The department has been completely refitted internally with new Resus room, 6 consulting rooms and a 3 bed POU ward. The existing mechanical and electrical services in the A&E were stripped out in their entirety and replaced. The design allowed for connection on to existing infrastructure and new plant/equipment where the existing had insufficient capacity or was life expired.
The mechanical services comprised a new ventilation/air conditioning system consisting 4-pipe chilled beam units with new externally mounted air handling unit and air cooled water chiller. Mechanical services which were replaced include drainage, domestic water services, heating water services and medical gasses. A new local BMS controls installation was provided and integrated into the sites existing system.
The electrical services comprised new distribution boards, fed from existing infrastructure, with new power, data, lighting, fire alarm and nurse call systems.
