Caring Kindergartens is a state of the art, purpose built, two-story nursery. Located in Brooklands, a new development in the east of Milton Keynes.

The nursery school cares for children aged from 12 weeks to 4 years, with an on-site kitchen, and an outdoor play area to use all year round. The nursery prepares the children with their transition to school, with meals and snacks made in-house throughout the day in the kitchen, outside play space, and classrooms.

CBG provided the complete M&E services design to meet BREEAM Very Good standard, including lighting, ventilation with heat recovery, and underfloor heating throughout. The design had to be adaptable and accommodating to each of the spaces; from classrooms to offices, sleeping rooms, and eating areas.

To achieve the BREEAM standard we used a highly efficiency boiler for heating and hot water, reduced light pollution during night-time, well insulated, with a low air permeability, and many other measures including control of water consumption and segregation of waste.

The mechanical services also comprised of drainage, domestic water services and associated controls.

The electrical services comprised distribution boards, power, data, lighting, access controls, intruder alarm, CCTV, and fire alarm.
