CBG were appointed by the NHS trust to undertake works to the ground floor of the yellow wing. The works needed were to ensure that the ground floor was compliant to current building regs and HTM standards. On top of this, the ground floor was being refurbished to accommodate the Caravelle ward.

CBG undertook surveys in order to verify the conditions and compliance of the area for example fire proofing and legionella. During the survey it was found that the main incoming panel was life expired and this had to be renewed and also it became apparent that medical gas was not available for the wards.

CBG then produced survey reports and drawings to get client sign off before progressing to design. Upon client instruction CBG, designed the ventilation, heating, H&C water services, lighting, fire alarm, small power, nurse call and intruder alarm systems for the entire ward. The design was carried out in consultation with the stakeholders in order that we met their requirements.
CBG were then novated to work with for the construction (Morgan Sindall) and we were involved in taking the design to completion. CBG were on site to assist the contractor as and when required and were involved in commissioning/witnessing, snagging and hand over.
