A new state of the art science block at Bourne Grammar School in Lincolnshire to provide Mechanical & Electrical Engineering services, lighting design and thermal modelling.
The new building features 15 laboratories supported by 3 large preparation rooms, each with their own bespoke furniture and fume cupboards. The laboratories are laid out in a particular format to maximise student participation in class activities and experiments.
The two storey building was specifically designed to be built with limited ‘wet trades’ in order to reduce the risk of programme slippage due to adverse weather. The building also features coloured glass panels in the laboratories and communal areas to identify the different sciences of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
