The Stoke Centre for Urology at The Royal Surrey County Hospital was Highly Commended at the Building Better Healthcare Awards.
The project was a collaboration between ‘The Prostate Project’ charity and the NHS to create a sector-leading new-build facility for treating prostate cancer patients.
The new building, named the Stokes Centre of Urology in honour of Colin Stokes, features a cutting-edge theatre for brachytherapy, which uses tiny radioactive seeds to treat prostate cancer. It also includes ultramodern consulting and treatment rooms, as well as a small laboratory for research.
